Supreme has based its entire business model on exclusive seasonal drops, and so did most sneaker brands. There is a reason for this, drops are what makes shopping exciting. Instagram Drops will help users discover more products, see what’s coming, sign up for reminders and view the newest products and collections that are already available on the app. As per Instagram Shopping, all items can be purchased within the app using Instagram Checkout.
First to drop was the Lawless x Sephora mascara, followed by Cardinal Stock collection from Drake and Nocta which dropped Wednesday (May 26), featuring caps, fleece pants, hoodies, and T-shirts.
Next, Wren + Glory will debut its hand-painted summer collection on May 27, and Charlotte Tilbury will unveil its exclusive Pillow Talk Lips & Dreams Lashes Kit on May 29.
Instagram director of product management Ashley Yuki added in a statement, “For people who love to shop, Instagram has become the place to discover and purchase the latest trends from creators and brands of all sizes. Today, we’re launching a new Drops destination at the top of the Shop tab, so you can stay in the know on the latest product launches across Instagram.”
