Instagram has added the ability for users to reply to comments on posts with short video Reels that appear as colorful stickers.
Last week, Instagram announced Reels Visual Replies – the ability for users to reply to post comments with Reels. The new feature expands on the power of Reels and integrates the format into the broader user experience elsewhere on the platform.
According to the announcement, when users reply to a comment on a post, they will now be offered the option to create a video reply.
The option is presented to users in the form of a blue Reels button. When they choose to create the video reply, the Reel appears as a sticker personalizable with color options. Users are able to reply to comments on regular posts and videos with Reels as well.

As Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg noted in the company’s recent earnings call, Reels is now “the primary driver of engagement growth” on the platform, and millions of its users are now interacting with Reels clips every day.
