It’s never easy to bring your Holiday tree home. It’s big, comes with sharp needles, and can be rather on the heavy side. The good news, Instacart is willing to help. Daniel Danker, chief product officer at Instacart, said the new offering aims to help people “spend more time holiday-ing and less time hauling.”
The same-day Holiday tree delivery service utilizes Instacart’s Big & Bulky fulfillment solution for large items, which the company unveiled back in August. That solution enables same-day and scheduled delivery of items up to 60 pounds.
Customers can select fresh-cut trees that are up to 5 feet tall (with options to get them trimmed and levelled), as well as artificial trees that are up to 9 feet tall (these come in a box and will require assembly.) Along with the trees, customers can also shop for seasonal decor, ornaments, tree trimmings, and lights from grocery, wholesale, home improvement, and specialty stores for same-day delivery fulfilled by Instacart.
Holiday tree spending will top $4.19 billion this year, with consumers paying an average of $85.59 for a live tree and $122.60 for an artificial one, with 33.6% of American households saying they will buy a Christmas tree in 2022, according to Finder research.
