IKEA Celebrates Pride Month With A Rainbow FRAKTA Bag

IKEA is bringing back its rainbow FRAKTA bag to celebrate International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, as well as Pride Month.

It is by far the cheapest fashion accessory for Pride Month.

The special edition of the FRAKTA shopping bag will become available this Friday, May 15 ahead of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, that will take place on May 17, and Pride Month in June.

The bag will retail for £1.50 and will be available at IKEA stores in the UK and Ireland. All profits from the sales will be given to local LGBT+ initiatives chose by each store.=

Peter Jelkeby, Country Retail Manager and Chief Sustainability Officer, IKEA UK and Ireland, said: “At IKEA, our culture is centered on the value of togetherness. We believe equality is a human right and that everyone deserves a home where they can be themselves”

“We know that lockdown will disproportionately affect the LGBT+ community. With many isolated from their support networks, and with Pride celebrations postponed, it has never been more important to show our support and encourage everyone to provide a safe and welcoming space for members of the LGBT+ community and ‘be someone’s home’,” he concluded.

So come on people. It looks great and it is for a good cause. And if you happen to be in the UK or Ireland, please get one for me.
