LinkedIn has added the ability to tag other users in photos, marking yet another step in its transformation to being more of a social networking platform.
The new feature was announced by Pete Davies, Senior director of product management in a blog post: LinkedIn users can now tag other users in photos they share on the platform.
Davies explained that the motivation behind bringing the tagging feature to LinkedIn was to help members build stronger communities:“The world seems smaller and your community a little tighter when you let people know who is who.”
Davies also announced a few other new features, like including videos in messages, and UX revamps on its mobile app.
“Millions of members have posted videos and shared them with their connections or in groups: sharing ideas, experiences or simply a view into their working life.”
