Instagram’s new sticker lets you invite your followers to a new group chat and select who can join in.
Not many Instagram users are making good use of the app’s group chat feature. So it comes to no surprise that Instagram’s new addition to its interactive sticker collection is no other than an invitation to “Join chat.”
“Join chat” allows you to invite your followers to join in a new group chat to have a conversation, discuss a hot topic or for making plans between friends. Followers can request to join the group chat by tapping on the sticker. The chat itself will happen within the Instagram Direct inbox. The bonus is that as the poster, you get to approve who can join in or not. People can choose to leave the chat at anytime, and you can decide to end the entire thing whenever you want.
Brands and influencers can of course use the new “join chat” sticker to their advantage, inviting their fans and followers to enter a more private and exclusive conversation around a topic of their choice.
