Facebook has turned 12… Quite unbelievable, isn’t it? It feels like yesterday when we signed up for it and it has evolved from being an online place to connect with friends, to being the ultimate platform for pretty much all the aspects of our social life.

True to its mission to connect everyone in the world, Facebook delighted its members with a goodie bag of features that outlines and celebrates the importance of friendship.
First of all, to mark the occasion, Facebook debuted Friends Day Videos. The social network is delivering personalised videos that show their greatest moments with their friends. What’s more interesting is that the videos can by edited by the users and shared with their network. The prompt to view, edit and share these videos can be found on the top of each user’s newsfeed.

Facebook also rolled out two new packs of stickers that you can use for your conversations with your buddies. “Best Friends” and “Friendship” stickers can be found on Facebook Messenger’s sticker store, and are free to download.
The effect of Facebook on the way we socialise and connect with new friends, has been profound. As the blog post reads, the degrees of separation between a pair of Facebook users has now decreased to 3.57 degrees, down from 3.74 degrees in 2011. We live in a connected world!
