Here’s a piece of news that will make many page admins happy: Facebook’s unified Page inbox will now include messages from Instagram Direct as well.
Following reports last week that Facebook was working on a new iteration of its unified inbox announced last November, the social network announced that it is now bringing Facebook messages and Instagram DMs to the same inbox. The feature was announced as part of the new features and tools Facebook laid out at its Communities Summit last week.
Up until now, Page admins had to go to Instagram to respond to Instagram Direct Messages. Now they will be able to respond to them directly from within their Facebook Page inbox in addition to seeing and responding to other interactions on the platform. According to reports, Facebook is bringing the feature to users in the United States and Brazil first, but this is not exactly clear yet since Facebook did not specify anything further in its release last week.
The new feature is a big step towards further integrating Facebook properties – this is a rumour that’s been going around lately.
