Following the success of Facebook Dating in Colombia, Facebook is expanding the service in Canada and Thailand as well.
Facebook announced its Dating service during F8 in May, and two months ago in September, it started rolling out in Colombia.
Despite Facebook not sharing any specific metrics or signup numbers, we’re assuming that the test went well because the service is now being expanded to Canada and Thailand, with a spokesperson saying Facebook is “pleased with the response in Colombia.”
With the expansion into two new markets, Facebook is also adding new features to its Dating service. The first, “Second Look” lets users go back and review people they weren’t previously interested in.
The second gives users the ability to pause their Dating profile indefinitely. This will certainly come in handy for those who would like to take a break from online dating, or those who enter an exclusive relationship with someone.
Dating is open to users over the age of 18, and the service will be separate from their Facebook profile.
