Discord has completed this year’s Snowsgiving, a week-long celebration filled with games, giveaways, and more.

The Discord community exceeded its generosity expectations raising $513,000 – over 150% more than the targeted $200,000, for the platform’s charity partner To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA).

The fundraiser took place on the occasion of Discord’s fifth “Snowsgiving,” the annual holiday event that brings together all of Discord’s communities for a week-long celebration filled with games, contests, giveaways, and more.

During this year’s Snowsgiving, Discord issued new, special-edition charity bundles, which sold out in days, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the non-profit.

In addition to this, Snowsgiving 2021 saw record-breaking fan engagement through various other initiatives. The new Discord Snowball Bot was added to 100,000 servers and saw over 9.5 million commands.

Finally, Discord’s first-ever 8 Days of Snowsgiving garnered millions of daily visitors. This new initiative offered daily giveaways of snowy surprises such as exclusive emotes, video backgrounds, and more.

Snowsgiving hosted various live events, each of which garnered thousands of attendees throughout the week. The user response and engagement accumulated exceeded all expectations and highlighted the power of community within digital spaces. And Discord even fulfilled its promise of launching Wumpus into space!
