Clubhouse Announces Its First Sports Partnership With The NFL

Clubhouse is partnering with the NFL to broadcast a variety of exclusive content during 2021 NFL Draft week. 

With competitors hot on its heels, Clubhouse is doing its best to move fast. After announcing its first Heads of Sports Partnerships two weeks ago, the audio chat app is now announcing a deal with the NFL to broadcast exclusive content in the run-up to the 2021 NFL Draft.

As part of the deal, the NFL will use Clubhouse to broadcast throughout the 2021 NFL Draft week in an effort to bring together the global community of football fans, players, and league legends on the platform.

“The NFL’s commitment to innovation is matched only by their devotion to their fans, and we are proud to welcome the NFL to Clubhouse,” said Sean Brown, Head of Sports Partnerships at Clubhouse. “The Draft is one of the biggest events of the year for football fans, and we know that millions of creators will be discussing, debating, and celebrating throughout the week.”

Fans will be able to drop in on the various NFL-created rooms to follow discussions and the picks as soon as they’re announced. They will also be able to join the discussions after being invited on stage by room moderators.

New Clubhouse Features this Week

In other news, Clubhouse also announced several product releases, including:

  1. Testing its Android app “out in the wild.”
  2. More event-specific invites for Club founders
  3. Higher quality default audio
  4. The ability to view upcoming events and combined follower count on Club pages
  5. More localization for topics and club suggestions
  6. A new badge added to profile icons to denote when a speaker is on a phone call that will interrupt their audio stream
