Ahead of the holiday shopping season, Facebook has announced daily Live Shopping experiences and the return of #BuyBlack Friday.
Facebook will be launching daily Live Shopping experiences, during which people will be able to find brands, like Benefit Cosmetics, Cocokind, Macy’s, Paintbox Nails, Tanya Taylor, Ulta Beauty, Vuori, and Walmart hosting live shows that share exclusive deals.
From November 1, participating users on Facebook and Instagram will receive advice from fellow shoppers and connect with brand experts, celebrities, and creators.

In addition, the program of live shows will include the come back of its #BuyBlack Friday initiative for the second year, starting from November 5. The initiative will highlight Black-owned small businesses and provide them with a platform to offer exclusive gifts and deals for those who purchase products or services from either their Facebook Shops or Instagram Shops.
“We know the holiday season is critical for small businesses, our latest Global State of Small Business Report shows that a quarter of minority-led businesses expect to make half of their annual sales over the holiday period, compared to 14% of other small businesses,” the blog post reads.
The #BuyBlack Friday initiative is part of Facebook’s second annual program in support for small businesses, called “Boost with Facebook: Good Ideas Season.” The program gives small businesses access to free resources and training for a successful holiday season.
Throughout the holiday season, the Instagram Shop tab will facilitate the discovery of the latest sought-after products, from drops to collections curated by creators and by the Instagram @shop team.
Users will also have the opportunity to sign up from the Drops destination to be notified when a product becomes available.
