During its annual press conference, Acer announced several new hardware products, as well as an entirely new category for the brand: energy drinks.
At its press conference today, Acer debuted new laptops, desktops, and monitors. Usual business, you would think. Except that the company also revealed the Predator Shot, its own energy drink.
The Predator Shot is not pretending to be the next Red Bull. On the contrary, the name itself (i.e. Predator is the gaming branch of Acer computers), shows the new energy drink is aimed at gamers looking for some extra pep.
Acer announced that the drink is full of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B and lutein. That’s important because lutein is thought to function as a light filter, protecting the eye tissues from sunlight damage, and in this case, over exposition to screen light probably. Of course, the Predator Shot is probably also full of caffeine, as are most energy drinks on the market.
The company did not provide a release date or pricing details during the press conference.

Following the announcement, Acer CEO Jason Chen also introduced the Predator gaming chair. It boasts two Bluetooth speakers mounted into the headrest and integrated massaging elements to keep you relaxed and limber while playing your favorite video games. The Predator gaming chair is compatible with Acer’s $14,000 Thronos Air rig that surrounds you with displays attached by motorized arms. The company did not share pricing details for the Predator gaming chair.
