Netflix has given us a first look at ‘Becoming,’ its new documentary on Michelle Obama, directed by Nadia Hallgren, to be released on May 6.
‘Becoming’ will show us the real life of Michelle Obama, former First Lady, who spent eight years in the White House. The original documentary, produced by Higher Ground – the Obama’s own production company – for an exclusive deal with Netflix, was directed by Nadia Hallgren.
The documentary takes you behind the scenes with Michelle Obama, showing an up-close look at the life of the 56-year-olf lawyer, wife of former US President Barrack Obama and mother of Malia Ann and Natasha.
The launch coincides as Michelle Obama sets out a 34-date tour in support of her New York Times Best Seller, Becoming.
“Those months I spent traveling — meeting and connecting with people in cities across the globe — drove home the idea that what we share in common is deep and real and can’t be messed with. In groups large and small, young and old, unique and united, we came together and shared stories, filling those spaces with our joys, worries, and dreams. We processed the past and imagined a better future. In talking about the idea of ‘becoming,’ many of us dared to say our hopes out loud.”
