Tubi Is Turning TikTok Creators Into Long-Form Showrunners

Tubi is moving TikTok creators into a new role: long-form showrunner.

The Fox-owned streaming platform has revealed the first slate from its Creatorverse Incubator, a partnership with TikTok designed to develop original long-form programming with creators who built their audiences in short-form video. The slate includes ten shows led by 12 TikTok creators.

The projects range from Lynnell Jones Jr.’s animated superhero comedy Feeling Super to Kai Cameron’s gender-bending dating show Kai Picks the Guy, Allie Tran’s horror project Scare Tours, and Marc Sebastian’s travelogue A Great Australian Gay Sidequest. Release dates have not been announced.

TikTok’s creator pipeline is becoming a programming pipeline

The important shift is not simply that Tubi has commissioned creator-led shows. It is that TikTok is helping identify creators ready to move beyond the formats that made them visible in the first place.

TikTok is expected to use its Spotlight product to promote the resulting Tubi originals. That gives the partnership two connected jobs: find creators with a distinctive point of view, then help carry that audience into a more traditional streaming environment.

Tubi VP of Creator Partnerships Kudzi Chikumbu described the creators as people with “a following, a point of view, and a body of work that people come back for.” The incubator is intended to give them the creative freedom and production support to turn that repeat attention into television-scale work.

The bet is bigger than a creator cameo

Tubi is also choosing formats that already fit its audience. The reported slate leans into horror, comedy, young adult themes, dating and travel, categories the platform has used in previous creator initiatives.

That makes the project less like a celebrity experiment and more like a test of whether creator-native attention can become repeatable programming. A TikTok following may open the door, but the shows still have to create characters, premises and viewing habits that work when the audience is no longer scrolling.

For creators, the opportunity is a new path from personal format to owned entertainment franchise. For platforms, it is a way to make the distance between social discovery and streaming consumption smaller. The strategic consequence is clear: creator partnerships are moving from talent acquisition into programming development.
