Twitter wants to take over your TV experience as well! You can now watch Twitter’s live TV channel on Roku.
Twitter has been signing livestreaming deals, left, right, and center, for some time now and even recently announced a news channel in collaboration with Bloomberg. But to watch “Twitter TV” you won’t even need to go on Twitter. Now you can simply download Twitter’s channel from Roku’s channel store, set it up and start watching everything Twitter has in store for you.
On the channel, users can watch sports, entertainment, news, and politics, as well as browse the conversations and commentary around any live events being streamed to your TV. Ryan Troy, product manager at Twitter explained:
The Twitter channel on the Roku platform brings together the video and related conversation that surrounds live events to the largest screen in the house. Our new channel gives Roku’s audience an easy way to watch live events and see what people are talking about, keeping them connected to what’s happening
Ed Lee, VP of content acquisition at Roku, added:
Twitter live videostreaming brings a new element to TV viewing with access to major-league sports and other crowd-pleasing moments. Roku customers will enjoy access to major video moments for free.
