Zoom’s New Meta Quest App Invites You To Take Video Calls in VR

Zoom’s new standalone app for Meta Quest headsets gives users the chance to join or host meetings entirely in VR. while showing up as their Meta Avatar.

Unlike its earlier VR option, which required access through Meta’s Horizon Workrooms and a paid Zoom plan to host meetings, the new app works with any free or paid Zoom license. It’s now available for Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest Pro, and Quest 2 headsets.

With Zoom on the Quest, you’ll see other participants whether they’re calling in from desktop, mobile, or web and you can toggle passthrough mode to keep an eye on your real-world surroundings while in VR.

This move builds on Zoom’s broader push into immersive experiences and AI. Over the past year, the company started letting Vision Pro users join meetings as their “persona” and even launched AI avatars that can attend meetings and relay short messages on your behalf.
