YouTube Launches Its Own “Wrapped” Recap for Videos

YouTube is finally joining the end-of-year recap party with a new feature that spotlights your biggest viewing habits of the year, essentially Spotify Wrapped, but for videos.

Rolling out now in the US (and globally this week), YouTube Recap gives you up to 12 personalized cards that highlight your top channels, niche rabbit holes, and how your taste shifted over the past 12 months. YouTube even assigns you a “personality type” based on your watch patterns, think Adventurer, Skill Builder, or Creative Spirit, echoing Spotify’s listening profiles.

You’ll find the new Recap button right on the YouTube homepage or in the You tab across mobile and desktop.

Music fans aren’t left out either. YouTube Recap also includes stats tied to music you listened to on the main app, like top artists and songs. But this doesn’t replace the dedicated YouTube Music Recap, which still lives inside the YouTube Music app for deeper artist, genre, and podcast insights.

To mark the launch, YouTube shared trend charts revealing this year’s top creators, songs, and podcasts in the US. No surprises at the top, MrBeast continues his reign and The Joe Rogan Experience holds the podcast crown. One interesting twist: the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack dominated overall music charts but didn’t take off on Shorts.

A clean, personalized rewind of your year on YouTube, finally. Combined with the new “custom feed” it provides a clear view on YouTube’s plans for personalization.

To review your YouTube Recap, head over to youtube.com/recap from a desktop or go to the You tab on your mobile app.
