Say goodbye to screenshots, because you can now share SoundCloud tracks directly to your Instagram Stories. Well, almost.
Starting today, SoundCloud is allowing direct sharing to Instagram Stories from its iOS and Android apps. So forget the old screenshot of your favourite podcast or artist, and get sharing more new cool sounds on Instagram. Awesome, right? Except, there is a (huge) caveat: you can only share a link to a SoundCloud track, not the track itself. That means that, unlike for Spotify, users will have to tap on the link and be redirected to the SoundCloud app to listen to the song…
OK, this is still great news, as it will make discovering new artists and podcasts easier for you and your friends. It also is a great new way for brands and artists to promote their tracks via Instagram, a platform known to have better reach and engagement (than Facebook).

SoundCloud tracks can now be shared on Instagram stories
Here’s how the new feature works:
- Find a track you want to share
- Tap the share icon at the bottom of your screen
- Tap the Instagram icon or select “Share to Instagram Stories.”
- Share the link with all your followers directly to your Instagram Story
It’s that simple.
SoundCloud says Instagram Stories sharing is live and available from the latest version of the SoundCloud app on iOS and Android devices.
