Instagram says it is testing a new feature that lets users add songs to the photo carousels they share on the platform.
Mark Zuckerberg announced the feature on his Instagram broadcast channel:
“We’re testing out new Instagram features: people can share a song in a Note and also add a song to their photo carousels. It’s available in a few countries with more to come.”

Instagram has been welcoming music to its platform for a while now. First, it was Stories, and more recently the company had added the ability to add songs to individual photos when posting. Photo carousels actually make a lot more sense, as they would give viewers more time to listen and appreciate the song as they scroll through the different photos within the carousel. I personally think this is a great storytelling add-on to an already great Instagram feature.
Aside from photo carousels, Instagram is also testing a way to add music to Notes.
