Remember we talked about that WhatsApp Beta a while ago? Well, it’s been released, and it brings with it some cool new features. Quick replies and the ability to format text on the chat app.
Text formatting was initially in the beta version by it has also been released to all users now. So, you can bold, italicise and strikethrough text easily. WhatsApp already had a few options on its web version, but these are now available on mobile. So, in order to make something bold you add asterisks before and after the word or words. So, *bold* would show up as bold. If you want to italicise something you do the same with underscores. So, _underscore_ would show up as underscore. For strikethrough you use the tilde symbol (~). You get the point, I’m sure.

You can use these same style options on messaging apps like Slack. If you want to choose many more wallpapers for your chat you can now do so. In group chats you can mute, archive, mark as unread or leave the group simply by holding the thread. The updates should be available automatically and come with version 2.12.17 for iPhones and 2.12.535 for Android devices.
The other notable change is that users are now able to quick reply directly from a notification. That is super handy.
