On top of the core WhatsApp features, users will also be able to access all iPadOS multitasking features: Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over. This will be an iPad exclusive. On your phone, you will still have to switch away from WhatsApp to do other things like view multiple apps, send messages while browsing the web or anything else that would require you to us something else than WhatsApp.

Of course, the new iPad app will help keep everything synchronized between your phone, Mac and other devices. And you still won’t have to worry about protecting you data and privacy as all personal messages, calls and shared media will continue to be protected with WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption.

WhatsApp could be the start of a new era for Meta on iPad, with Instagram also reportedly planning to launch a dedicated iPad app in the future.

The dedicated iPad app is now available to download on the App Store.
