Tinder’s New AI Game Wants to Rate Your Flirting Skills

Tinder just dropped a new in-app game. “Swipe Stories: Flirt Week” is a playful, AI-powered experience designed to rate your flirting skills. Yes, seriously.

I must admit I have had my doubts about this one. The announcement was made on Tuesday, April 1st. But despite a strange sense of humor, it seems the date was just a coincidence.

The game, powered by OpenAI, will be running for a week as it drops users into fictional flirty scenarios where they choose how to respond. The AI then evaluates their moves and gives instant feedback on their charm level, from smooth to awkward and somewhere in between.

“Flirt Week” is part of Tinder’s bigger strategy to “turn swiping into storytelling” answering Gen Z’s craving for more personalized and interactive experiences.

To play Tinder’s The Game Game, tap the Tinder logo in the top left corner of the app. The game gives users a deck of cards, with each one featuring a different AI persona and scenario. Users must use their voices to respond and try to flirt their way into getting a date with the bot. It is only available for US users on iOS for a limited time.

And yes, this is absolutely a sign that the dating scene has totally gone wrong. The trend of people flirting with AI bots is becoming scarily popular.  Tinder is simply banking on it for growth and to boost time- in-app, encourage self-expression and making date feel less like a chore.

This is a reminder that AI is not longer just powering algorithms, it is shaping how we engage with apps.
