Let’s be honest, it won’t be missed. Less than a year after its launch, TikTok says it will discontinue TikTok Notes and shut down the experiment for all users.
Notes users (the few) are being informed of the platform’s demise within the app. The notification announces the app will shut down on May 8th and that they should probably check out its other app, Lemon8, in order to continue their “creative journey.”
Of course that if TikTok and all the apps it powers, survive April (in the US at least.)

So what does it mean? Well, not much tbh. The app never really gained traction, probably because it was too similar to Lemon8 to start with. It was only ever made available in certain regions and, as a result, most social media users might not even know it existed.
It was an experiment, and like many new apps and ‘experiments’, it did not succeed.
So, no more Notes app, for the few people that were using it. Now let’s hope TikTok survives. Right?
