At its US Creator Summit yesterday, TikTok unveiled three new features designed to make creators’ lives easier, and more profitable. Among them is Smart Split, a new AI-powered tool that automatically chops up long-form videos into short, mobile-friendly clips.
Smart Split works with any video longer than a minute, but TikTok says it’s especially useful for podcasts or all-day vlogs shot on wearable cameras. Simply choose the sections you want to highlight, and the AI handles the rest, selecting clip lengths, generating captions, and reframing the footage vertically for TikTok’s feed.

The feature is now available globally through TikTok Studio Web, the platform’s creator management tool.
Another new tool, AI Outline, helps creators before they even start filming. It uses generative AI to create a video outline based on a topic or prompt, complete with suggested titles, hooks, hashtags, and script ideas. It’s like having a built-in creative assistant for planning your next viral video. However, AI Outline is launching first in limited markets, starting with creators over 18 in the US, Canada, and select countries, before rolling out more broadly.

Finally, TikTok is tweaking how it pays creators with subscriptions. Those offering exclusive paid content already earn 70% of revenue after fees, but creators who hit certain benchmarks (10K followers, 100K views in the past month, and at least three subscription-only posts) can now boost their share up to 90% through new monthly rewards.
Together, these updates show TikTok’s continued push toward AI-assisted creativity and stronger monetization, helping creators spend less time editing and more time making content that connects.
