Threads, Meta’s Twitter alternative is closing in fast on X.

According to Similarweb data, Threads has reached roughly 130 million daily active users on iOS and Android, nearly matching X’s mobile audience and on pace to surpass it globally within days.
The app’s momentum is fueled in part by its deep integration with Instagram, driving significant traffic through Meta’s ecosystem. In August, Threads reported 400 million monthly active users.
X, meanwhile, continues to dominate web traffic, reflecting its long-standing role in users’ daily browsing habits. But on mobile, where most of the action happens, Threads is quickly becoming the preferred platform.
