SwitchBot Unveils AI Pet: A Furry Robotic Teddy Bear That Talks, Feels, and Learns

At IFA Berlin 2025, SwitchBot introduced its most surprising product yet: the SwitchBot AI Pet, a furry robotic teddy bear designed to talk, display emotions, and “grow” alongside its owner.

Wrapped in a plush, fuzzy material to make it feel more like a toy than a machine, the AI Pet is built to interact naturally with people. It can converse, answer questions, tell jokes, sing, and even remember users’ names, routines, and favorite topics.

Under the hood, two AI systems work in tandem: one onboard for processing language, and another cloud-based for “vision,” powering its eyes, ears, and expressions. Cameras in its face act as eyes, microphones as ears, and its speakers as a mouth. The result: a responsive companion that can show happiness, sadness, loneliness, hunger, and even jealousy, with facial patterns, voice tones, and body movements to match.

Physically, the AI Pet can turn its head, blink, tilt its body, and roll across the floor on small wheels. Motors and sensors allow subtle, lifelike gestures, while its LED-powered face shifts colors and expressions. Compact enough to sit on a nightstand or bookshelf, it doubles as both a friendly companion and an assistive home device.

The AI Pet connects to WiFi for updates and new features, and its internal battery keeps it powered with a built-in sleep mode to conserve energy. SwitchBot says the device is designed to feel alive without being intimidating, a gadget that blurs the line between smart assistant and playful friend.

Unveiled at IFA Berlin 2025, the SwitchBot AI Pet is another sign of how AI is moving from screens into our living rooms, and into cuddly, emotional forms we never quite expected.
