You’ve read it before: Facebook users are leaving the platform, often to the benefit of cooler, trendier new ones like Snapchat. Usually, marketers claim that those “younger” users are walking away from Facebook because their parents are on it now, or because the platform has lost its “cool” factor.
But the true reason might be very different. A recent survey shows that users leave Facebook for Snapchat because its makes them happier.

Now let’s get the elephant out of the room here: the research also showed that “happiness” has nothing to do with sexting.
Researchers over at the University of Michigan have found that when it comes to rewarding personal interactions, Snapchat came second only to face-to-face meetups.
