What if your dog became a gamer too? To mark National Video Games Day, Purina and its Beggin’ brand unveiled a collab that blends pop culture with bacon: Minecraft dog treats.
And not, it’s not a joke.

Called Beggin’ Blocks, the cube-shaped snacks mimic the iconic pixelated grass blocks from the cult video game. But behind the playful design lies Beggin’s star ingredient: bacon. A limited-edition launch, it’s designed to delight Minecraft movie fans while giving owners a fun new way to bond with their pets.
Grass Blocks… With Bacon Flavor
Available in 170g ($3.99) and 700g ($12.49) packs, Beggin’ Blocks are already on sale through Purina’s website and major U.S. retailers. What could have been just another dog treat becomes a geeky collectible, turning snack time into a subtle nod to the Minecraft universe.
To hype the launch, Purina rolled out the Big Blocky Beggin’ Sweepstakes, running through October 31, 2025. Each week, one lucky winner will score the ultimate bundle: an Xbox Series S, a custom Beggin’ gaming chair, a supply of treats, and a digital copy of A Minecraft Movie. On top of that, 9,900 other fans will get the movie in digital format, making this more than just a snack break.
Beyond fan service, Purina is telling a story about connection: strengthening the bond between owners and dogs through play, culture, and shared joy.
As animal behaviorist Dr. Annie Valuska puts it, “A treat is a moment of exchange.” In this case, it’s also a way to turn everyday life into a Minecraft-style adventure.
