This may not sound very new at first, because, yes, you have been able to share posts from Facebook Pages before. But guess what, you have never been able to share “original” posts before. And this is a BIG update, especially for GIFs. Don’t worry this will all make sense soon.

Facebook rolled out a new small add-on that allows users to “include original post” when sharing something they found on a Facebook Page, as you can see from the screenshot below:

This little add-on makes a big difference. Until now, Facebook would add a “via [Page name]” when a user shared something from your page onto his or her own timeline, or onto a friend’s profile. Although this was an acknowledgement for your page, it rarely turned into something positive for your page and its engagement rate.
With the possibility to include the “original post” Facebook is letting users share the posts with full credit to the page they found it on.
And as you can see from the above post I shared from We are Social Media, it makes a big difference when it comes to sharing GIFs! Those are shared as links on Facebook (you cannot upload a GIF onto Facebook, you have to copy/paste its URL) and when a user would share it to a personal profile, the link to the Page would often disappear. Consider this fixed now.

The add-on is being rolled out progressively to Facebook users across the globe.
