The new Beats Studio Pro headphones could replace the aging Studio 3, adding personalized spatial audio to the Beat’s lineup.
9to5Mac has learned that Beats could be about to launch new Beats Studio Pro headphones with Transparency Mode and Spatial Audio. Images found in the internal files of iOS 16.5 RC, which was released on Tuesday for developers, confirm the existence of the new Beats Studio Pro. Based on codenames, they are likely being developed in partnership with Samuel Ross of A-Cold-Wall.

Citing sources familiar with the headphones, 9to5Mac explains that the new headphones will have better active noise cancellation (ANC) and Transparency Mode, and even Personalized Spatial Audio for the first time. They could also finally feature a USB-C port for charging and a custom Beats chip, just like other recent products from the company.
On the design side, the new Beats Studio Pro look very similar to the Beats Studio3. The most notable difference in terms of design is the removal of the “Studio” branding from the headband. They will be available in four different colors: black, white, a dark blue, and brown.
The Studio 3 headphones, introduced all the way back in 2017, are still selling on the Apple website for $349 but you can cope a brand new pair on Amazon for about half the price. It is not clear whether the new Studio Pro will replace the Studio 3 or come as a premium alternative.
There is no official announcement or information as to a potential release date. Both iOS 16.5 and macOS 13.4 should release during the week of May 15, and new headphone products are usually not far behind once references are found in shipping iOS code.
