Meta Launches “Vibes,” a TikTok-Style Feed of AI-Generated Videos

Meta just introduced a new short-form video feed called Vibes, now live inside the Meta AI app and on meta.ai. Think TikTok or Instagram Reels, except every video is AI-generated.

Announced by CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Instagram, the rollout comes as Meta doubles down on generative AI tools across its ecosystem. Early demos featured fuzzy creatures hopping on cubes, a cat kneading dough, and even an ancient Egyptian woman casually taking a selfie or a fury hello man riding a motorbike… because why not.

According to Meta, Vibes is designed to help people “discover, create, and share AI videos.” Users can:

  • Generate a video from scratch
  • Remix existing videos by adding music, swapping styles, or layering visuals
  • Share directly to the Vibes feed, DM to friends, or cross-post to Instagram and Facebook Stories and Reels

Meta says the feed will become personalized over time, surfacing AI videos from both creators and communities. And if you see a Meta AI clip on Instagram, you can tap through to remix it in the Meta AI app.

Why It Matters

On paper, Vibes is positioned as a creative playground. Meta has partnered with Midjourney and Black Forest Labs for its early AI models, while continuing to develop its own. It’s also working with “talented visual artists and creators” to expand future tools.
But user response to Zuckerberg’s announcement has been… less than enthusiastic.

The top comments read: “gang nobody wants this,” or “Bro’s posting ai slop on his own app” or even “I think I speak for everyone when I say: What…?”

And it’s not hard to see why. At a time when YouTube and others are cracking down on “AI slop” flooding feeds, Meta is rolling out a dedicated home for it. This move also feels at odds with the company’s recent messaging urging creators to focus on “authentic storytelling” rather than low-value content.

Meta stresses that the AI app remains a central hub for managing its AI glasses, capturing moments, and exploring creative possibilities. The Meta AI assistant is still built in, offering “answers, ideas, and inspiration.”

Still, the big bet here is clear: Meta wants to own the AI-video lane, even if the audience isn’t exactly asking for it.
