The pre-roll is part of a wider social campaign created by Leo Burnett for McDonald’s Russia, ‘We are for safety. With both hands’.
Twenty seconds, that’s the required amount of time to thoroughly wash your hands and remove all potential germ contamination. As a leader in food hygiene, McDonald’s has been teaching their employees to wash their hands properly and maintain high standards of cleanness and safety. Now is the perfect time for the company to remind everyone of this and share the best technique.
And yes, a 20-second unskippable ad was the perfect format for this campaign.
The pre-roll ad was launched for Russian viewers on March 23. It has been viewed more than 120 million times, according to the agency.
