LEGO Reveals A 1,500-Piece Soccer Ball With A Hidden Stadium Inside

With its new LEGO Editions Soccer Ball, LEGO turns one of the most universal objects in sport into a buildable collector’s piece, designed for the shelf, not the pitch.

Made up of 1,498 pieces, this sculptural soccer ball goes beyond simply recreating a perfect sphere. The real twist is what’s hidden inside.

At first glance, the set looks like a stylized soccer ball resting on a sleek black stand. The white panels are accented with light blue, black, and pink graphic details, giving it a distinctly modern, almost editorial feel. But open the ball, and the experience changes completely.

Inside, LEGO has built a fully realized miniature stadium: stands packed with detail, a pitch at the center, a podium, and even a celebration scene complete with micro-figures and fireworks. It’s a tiny snapshot of a big match night, transforming the ball into a narrative object rather than a static model.

Part of the LEGO Editions line, this set sits right at the intersection of design object and fan collectible. It’s not meant to be played with or rolled across the floor, but observed, explored, and displayed—more playful sculpture than toy.

Notably, the set isn’t tied to any official tournament or World Cup branding. That decision gives LEGO full creative freedom and reinforces a more universal idea of soccer, not as a single event, but as a shared global culture.

The LEGO Editions Soccer Ball is currently available for preorder on LEGO’s official website for $129.99, with a planned released date of  March 1, 2026
