Netflix Bangers, the Facebook community run by, global publisher LADbible Group, has today hit the milestone of one million members.
Launched in 2019, Netflix Bangers is a community-driven group where members can discuss anything Netflix-related, from the latest series and films and the craziest fan theories to exclusive interviews with showrunners and members sharing their own fan art.

Group members are encouraged to post about their favorite shows, participate in polls, and are even offered unique opportunities to connect with famous people who have been a part of a popular Netflix show with ‘Ask Me Anything’ live Q&A sessions. Previous sessions have featured Sunderland Til’ I Die Executive Producer Leo Pearlman and ‘You’ Showrunner Sera Gamble.
Netflix Bangers has grown substantially during lockdown as many people have looked to connect over their favorite shows whilst at home and has provided comfort for people by offering a light-hearted topic to engage with other like-minded people about. Over the course of the last year, the group has grown by 900,000 members from 100,000 in 2019.
Within the group, members’ comments include messages speaking about how the group is providing them support in their daily lives and offering them opportunities to connect with people they wouldn’t have had the chance to in their day-to-day lives.
Netflix Bangers has also attracted the attention of Netflix itself, who now play an active part in the group, posting about new shows and interacting with members.
The expert team at LADbible Group formed the idea for Netflix Bangers through utilizing the data they had available from their audience of approaching a billion, to identify common interests that their audience engage with most. Insight showed that TV and Film were a favorite topic and in particular social posts and articles around new Netflix releases resulted in huge engagement metrics.
Group admin Alex Maxam said “We knew there was an appetite for a dedicated social space for these avid Netflix fans, a space where they could not only read about their favorite streaming service but also engage in conversation with like-minded individuals from around the world. Lockdown has further led to people looking for connections on social and Netflix Bangers has given them the opportunity to make new friends and discover new shows as part of a safe and positive community”.
LADbible Group runs a number of Facebook groups to build communities focused on specific elements of popular culture. These groups see hundreds of thousands from all over the world interacting with each other on a daily basis, building friendships over common interests.
