Instagram started testing a new in-app teleprompter within its new Edits app. Teleprompters help creators present to camera in a more natural and engaging way.

In the below screenshots, shared by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi,  you can see how Edits will soon propose an in-stream teleprompter display option, which will show your script on screen, allowing you to stay focused on your phone when shooting in selfie mode.

It appears that users will be able to  adjust the speed at which the words are displayed, as well as the size of the text, to make it a custom experience for each Creators level of comfort.

Instagram explains that the new teleprompter feature can help make your videos feel more natural, increasing their fluidity in presentation.

Instagram is not the first to think about a teleprompter. Lately I have seen multiple ads on TikTok pushing for a similar feature delivered via a third-party app. Well I guess Meta is going to kill that business.

Instagram flagged the coming teleprompter update in an interview with Wired last week, which is just one of several new features the team’s developing. Instagram’s also noted that most of these coming updates will be launched in its new Edits app first, instead of the main app, in order to make it a more valuable video creation platform.
