Instagram is giving creators a new way to tell stories in short form. Starting today, you can now link Reels together, effectively turning multiple clips into a connected series.

The new option, called “Link a Reel,” lets you add a follow-up directly from the composer screen, or retroactively connect older Reels through the overflow menu. Once linked, viewers will see a prompt like “Watch Part 2” at the bottom of the clip, guiding them through the sequence.
For creators, that means easier organization, expanded storytelling, and a more natural way to lead audiences from one video to the next. And for viewers, it means less guesswork when following along with multi-part content.
Of course, this idea isn’t entirely new. TikTok has long offered simple video linking, as well as its “Series” feature. Still, for Instagram users, the addition closes a gap and unlocks new creative possibilities on Reels, by far the app’s most engaged format.
Instagram says Reels linking has been one of the most requested updates and is now rolling out to all users. Just make sure your clips actually connect, you don’t want to lose trust (or views) by sending people to unrelated content.
