Instagram just announced new comment filters, but you will need to have a minimum of 100K followers to access them.
The new comment filters allow users to rank comments by “top comments,” “newest first,” and “follower count.”

As you can see from the shared screenshot from the Instagram Creators broadcast channel, Creators with audiences over 100K can now sort through their comments, which will no doubt help them manage engagement more efficiently.
As noted, the additional filters are:
- Top comments: Sort comments based on how much engagement each has received
- Newest first: Sort comments by most recent
- Follower count: Sort comments based on the follower count of each contributor
While these are for Creators with large audiences, all Instagram users can now also sort comments by:
- People you follow
- Verified users only
- Subscribers only
The new comment filters, whether you have 100K followers or not, will provide new ways to engage with the followers that matter. it’s also yet another sign that the future of social media will start in the comments.
