IKEA Turns Its Iconic Meatballs Into Collectible Plush Keychains

At IKEA, Swedish meatballs are no longer just something you eat, they’re something you can carry around.

To celebrate its Family Fest 2025, IKEA Singapore has launched a limited-edition plush keychain shaped like a Swedish meatball. The mini collectible comes nestled in a white dish stamped with “Hej!” and even waves a tiny Swedish flag. Members of the IKEA Family program can claim one free with any in-store purchase of $50 or more, between September 4–14.

Distribution is tightly controlled: only 300 keychains per day, per store, available between 12pm and 4pm. Alongside the giveaway, IKEA is also offering discounts of up to 20% on select items and restaurant specials for members.

The plush accessory has already generated buzz online, with fans sharing photos and expressing their excitement to collect the quirky item. It taps directly into the broader trend of brands turning beloved products into emotional, kawaii-style collectibles, not unlike Disney’s recent push into mini plush toys.

For IKEA, the campaign is more than just cute merch. It’s a smart play in brand building and loyalty, transforming its most famous dish into a piece of brand culture that fans can literally take with them.

After all, if a snack can spark joy and drive engagement, it’s clear that even IKEA’s meatballs can become a powerful marketing tool. Watch out Labubu.
