Google now lets you customize “Top stories” and Discover. Here’s how to see us more often.
Google search isn’t what it used to be. Over the last year, results pages have changed more than at any other time in recent memory, and not always for the better. From endless YouTube embeds and Reddit threads to AI Overviews and sponsored content, it can feel like actual journalism and expert analysis are harder and harder to find.

That’s why we’re excited about Google’s new personalization feature: you can now choose WeRSM as a preferred source in both Google Search (“Top stories”) and Google Discover.
Why it matters
If you follow WeRSM, Google will prioritize showing you our coverage when it’s relevant to your searches. That means:
- More of our stories in the “Top stories” carousel
- More of our insights in your Google Discover feed
- Fewer missed updates on the future of social media, marketing, and culture.
How to do it
The process is simple:
- Head to Google’s customization page (or tap “Customize” in your Discover feed)
- Search for WeRSM.com
- Select us as a preferred source
That’s it. You’ll start seeing WeRSM more often when our stories are relevant to what you’re searching.
Why we’re asking
Google says its mission is to deliver the most helpful results, but recent changes have made it harder for independent and mid-sized publishers to reach readers. Big platforms and AI summaries often take center stage, while trusted voices risk getting buried.
By adding WeRSM as a preferred source, you’re helping shape your own search results and supporting independent media. It’s a small action that helps us keep doing what we love: decoding social platforms, exploring new trends, and keeping you ahead of the curve.
So if you’ve ever found an insight here that made you rethink your strategy, discover a new tool, or just smile at a clever campaign, we’d love for you to follow us on Google.
