What if Hermès objects came to life like in a dream from a Japanese animated film? That’s the poetic experience offered by the French house through a series of short films created by artist and animator Annie Choi, better known under the pseudonym anchoponcho.

With a delicate style and gentle visual storytelling, this collaboration transforms Hermès accessories into charming visual tales with a Ghibli-like flair.
Choi has been making waves in the luxury fashion space, having previously partnered with Spanish house Loewe on its Studio Ghibli collaboration. This time she was invited by Hermès to illustrate several of its collections (watches, leather goods, cosmetics) through a series of animated short films.
In this series of mini-films that are as surprising as they are poetic, the artist imagines surreal and tender scenes where Hermès objects become characters in their own right:
- A puzzle-like building opens up to reveal a precious watch
- An explosive game of billiards turns the balls into cosmetic products
- A secret library releases iconic handbags hidden behind the books
- Even a giant apple, when stretched, transforms into a handbag
Each animated scene, inspired by Japanese puzzle boxes, reveals the magic nestled within everyday objects.
