The tech giant is bringing AI to your wardrobe in an unexpectedly personal way.
Google is taking fashion tech one step further with the launch of Doppl, a new experimental app that lets you visualize how different outfits might look on you. Available now on iOS and Android in the U.S., Doppl uses generative AI to create realistic try-ons based on a single full-body photo.

Unlike previous virtual try-on tools that showed clothing on a range of preset models, Doppl creates a virtual version of your body and maps outfits directly onto it. Whether it’s a screenshot from Instagram, a picture of your friend’s outfit, or something you spotted at a thrift store, Doppl turns it into a personalized try-on experience.
And it doesn’t stop there. Doppl can even generate short AI-powered videos to show how an outfit would move on your body in real life. You can save your favorite looks, browse through your digital closet, and share outfits with friends, turning personal styling into a playful, social experience.
The app builds on Google Shopping’s recent try-on innovations, but spins them out into a more accessible and immersive stand-alone experience, and one that feels more aligned with how people actually shop and get inspired today.
“We hope Doppl helps you explore your style in new and exciting ways,” Google shared in a blog post, noting that the app is still experimental and may not always get fit or details exactly right.
From a strategic perspective, Doppl also opens a valuable testbed for Google to refine its AI, gather visual styling data, and potentially evolve how consumers discover and shop fashion across Google’s ecosystem.
While there’s no word yet on international rollout, the app signals a broader shift: AI is no longer just powering recommendations — it’s becoming part of how we see ourselves.
