To help you drown out the sounds of babies crying, dogs barking, or cats mewing, Google is rolling out AI-powered noise cancellation in Google Meet.
With more and more people working remotely these days, a common problem on voice or video calls is ambient noise. To address this issue, Google developed a new feature that uses artificial intelligence for effective noise cancellation. The feature is now rolling out gradually, so if you are a G Suite customer, you may get it very soon. It will appear on the web first, and then on Android and iOS later in the year.

Meet’s noise cancellation was announced back in April with three other top-requested Google Meet features:
“Meet can now intelligently filter out background distractions—like your dog barking or keystrokes as you take meeting notes. Noise cancellation will begin rolling out in the coming weeks to G Suite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for Education customers starting with web users and later to mobile users.”
The use of Google Meet (just like other video conferencing tools out there) has exploded recently, as more and more people around the world are working or learning from home.
As a result, the platform has received several necessary upgrades over the last few months.
It is now also totally free for anyone with a Google account – not just those with a GSuite account.
