What if a robot could take care of your household chores for you? That’s the ambition behind Figure 03, the latest humanoid from California-based startup Figure AI, a next-gen household companion that can clean, tidy, do the dishes, and even deliver packages with near-human precision.
Unlike previous prototypes that merely mimicked human gestures, Figure 03 understands and anticipates them, adapting in real time to whatever’s happening around it.
Backed by over $1 billion in funding, Figure AI’s third-generation robot is powered by Helix, a new AI reasoning model trained on the real world. Everything has been redesigned, from its visual sensors to the fabric-covered exterior, to help it blend naturally into everyday human environments.
A Robot With a Delicate Touch and Sharp Vision
Each of Figure 03’s hands features ultra-thin tactile sensors that can detect pressure as light as three grams. That means it can hold an egg, fold laundry, or handle glassware without breaking it. Tiny cameras built into its palms give it close-up vision for detailed work, even inside tight spaces like cabinets or sinks.
Its upgraded vision system doubles frame capture rate and widens the field of view by 60%, allowing Helix to “see” and understand rooms almost like a human, essential for tasks like sorting, cleaning, or pouring a perfect cup of coffee.
Soft, Safe, and (Mostly) Autonomous
Designed to live alongside humans, Figure 03 swaps hard metal for washable textile skin, making it lighter, safer, and easier to maintain. It can recharge itself wirelessly through induction pads in its feet, and even chat back thanks to a new natural-speech audio module, like a polite, helpful roommate who never complains.
Underneath that friendly exterior, however, lies serious power: new-generation motors double its speed and lifting capacity, making it equally suited for domestic chores or light industrial work. Built in Figure’s new BotQ factory, it’s also the first humanoid robot designed for mass production, with an ambitious goal of 100,000 units within four years.
With Figure 03, the company isn’t just building a smarter machine, it’s defining a new relationship between people and robots. One that’s less about replacement and more about cohabitation.
A robot that folds laundry, makes coffee, and quietly charges itself while you sleep sounds great… until you remember: This is how the uprising started in the movies.
