Ferrari has inked a deal with Swiss blockchain developers to issue exclusive digital collectibles and sponsor its Esports Team.
Ferrari is the latest luxury powerhouse to enter the NFT game, as the Maranello team signed a binding contract with blockchain developer Velas Network AG.

Last week, Italian luxury sports cars manufacturer Ferrari signed a multi-year contract with Swiss blockchain startup Velas Network. The new premium partnership will lead to exclusive digital content for the Scuderia’s fans. In addition, Velas will be the Title Sponsor of the Ferrari Esports Series, the online mono-brand series of the Prancing Horse the Esports team.
The team will compete in the F1 Esports Series and all other teams participating in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Ferrari says that Velas has distinguished itself through the performance and innovation of its services and its technological leadership.

Mattia Binotto, General Manager and Team Principal at Scuderia Ferrari, noted that Velas is “a company that makes innovation and performance the hallmark of technologically advanced products and services: these are all values that unite us and that led us to choose Velas as one of our Premium Partners.”
Farhad Shagulyamov, the CEO co-founder of Velas, said that the open-source network has built “a next-generation blockchain that puts the emphasis both on sustainability and performance” and that “it was natural to partner with another icon of excellence, which is Ferrari. Velas has introduced an innovative variety of pioneering technology into the blockchain and associated products, which will now be showcased at the pinnacle of motorsport.”
