Some Page admins have reported seeing a new Page Assistant in their Facebook Page settings that allows them to turn on an assistant Messenger bot.
Facebook Page admins may start getting help on how to get the most out of their Pages – from a Messenger bot. Some users, including myself, have seen a brand new section in their Page settings called “Page Assistant.” Within the section, admins can turn on a “bot that helps with managing and improving your Page.” It is unclear exactly what kind of assistance it will provide (mine hasn’t contacted me yet) but Facebook says it “helps you manage your Page and get better results on Facebook.”
When set up, it should show up as a conversation in Messenger at a time interval and time of day that suits you. For example, you can set it up to contact you in the morning, mid-day, afternoon or evening, once every day, once every three days, or once every week.
Facebook has not said anything more about this – and so we don’t know whether it’s just a test, or another feature that Facebook is rolling out. Multiple sources have asked Facebook about it and have not yet received an explanation. Also, in my case, I have at least one Page in each of my Business Managers that has the feature. I’ll update you once I find out more about it!
