After launching live sports updates to Messenger in October, Facebook is now launching a new feature called Sports Stadium – “a dedicated place to experience sports in real-time with your friends and the world”.

It is a place on Facebook that is totally devoted to sports and their fans, to unite them and their friends even when they aren’t together. Facebook Sports Stadium concentrates all content related to a particular game in one place – making it appear as it happens, chronologically. On it, users can find posts and comments from friends, as well as posts and commentary from experts (teams, leagues, or journalists) giving users access to their pages. Also, users get to see live scores, game stats, play-by-play, information about the game, and even where to find the game on TV.

Users can follow the action as it takes place, and interact with it through likes, comments, and sharing plays. Here’s to Facebook providing a true second-screen experience for sports fans. Facebook Sports Stadium starts rolling out with American football games in the US and will soon expand to other sports in other countries.
