Facebook is adding a new feature to Messenger that gives users the ability to quote and reply to specific messages in a conversation.
Facebook vowed to transform Messenger into a simpler experience for all users. This new feature answers a real need for users to better organize conversations and keep track of things, especially in larger group chats.
Quoted replies give you the ability to quote and reply (it’s all in the name, right?) to specific messages in a conversation. While the feature is new on Facebook Messenger, other platforms, like WhatsApp for example, have already shown that it greatly eases the pain of following conversations.
The new quoted replies feature comes as an expansion of Messengers existing reaction Emoji. Now, when you hold down on an individual message, you can add a reaction and quote this message in your reply. Note that these messages will be part of the overall messaging thread and seen by all participants in the group chat.
