Facebook is taking further steps in how it handles content that is against its policies with a new ‘Page Quality’ Tab that shows admins when their Page content has been penalised.
Starting this week, Facebook is adding a new Page Quality tab to Pages, designed to help people who manage Pages get a better idea about how well (or not) their Pages are complying with Facebook’s Guidelines. The tab announced earlier this week in a Newsroom post will show admins content that Facebook has removed for violating a subset of its Community Standards, as well as content that has been rated “False,” “Mixture,” or “False Headline” by third-party fact checkers.
There is not much more information about the Page Quality tab at this time, but Facebook says that it will be including “content removed for policies like hate speech, graphic violence, harassment and bullying, and regulated goods, nudity or sexual activity, and support or praise of people and events that are not allowed to be on Facebook,” over time.
The tab, found at the top of a Page (you may have to go under “More” to find it) provides insight into removed or demoted content, but Facebook explains that “it is not a comprehensive accounting of all policy violations.” For example, it won’t show content removals for spam, clickbait, or IP violations at this time. Admins are encouraged to look at the content that has been affected and reach out to Facebook if they feel this has been done in error.
Further to the above, Facebook is updating its so-called “Recidivism Policy.” Thus, while Facebook has prohibited people from creating new Pages, groups, events, or account that are similar to ones that have been removed previously for violating its Community Standards, Facebook will now be removing other Pages and Groups that are connected to ones that are violating its standards. For example, if someone is an admin of five similar pages and one of them violates Facebook’s standards and is removed, Facebook will look at a broad set of information related to all five to see whether it will remove any of the remaining four as well.
