Advanced Voice Mode was initially introduced to select ChatGPT Plus subscribers in May 2024 and became available to all Plus users by September of the same year. By November, both Pro and free users gained access, enabling a broader audience to engage with ChatGPT using voice input through the mobile app.

To utilize this feature, users can open the ChatGPT app and tap on the sound-wave icon next to the microphone. This initiates a listening mode, allowing for seamless voice interactions. While free users have access to this feature, they experience usage limits that can vary daily. In contrast, Plus subscribers enjoy extended conversation times and benefit from the more advanced GPT-4o model, which offers improved understanding and response quality.
